Kew Bridge Steam Museum

shapeimage_1Kew Bridge Steam Museum was the destination of our first excursion of the year on the 1st of March 2003. This little known museum is on the site of the original pumping station built in 1837 to supply clean water for that part of London.

The great steam pumping engines were still in operation right up until 1944, some of them still on their original site.
